About Me

Hello, my name is Allison Yang. I am a recent graduate of Seattle University with a degree in Communication & Media with specializations in Strategic Communication and Journalism and a minor in Marketing.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I came to Seattle intending to become a journalist. However, I quickly discovered the expansive world of communications and pivoted to the public relations industry. To me, public relations is the perfect combination of investigation, facts, imagination, and strategy – all with an emphasis on building meaningful human connections.

Throughout my professional experiences, I found that I am most passionate about my work when I am bringing people together and making a tangible impact on communities. In my most recent position as a Communications & Public Relations Intern at Leonard Resource Group, I wrote and edited a wide variety of communications and marketing materials for government agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency and the Health Resources and Services Administration. This work was difficult at times but also immensely rewarding. Besides, who am I to turn down a good challenge?

Being part of a team that prioritizes making positive differences in people’s lives is incredibly important to my professional growth and personal fulfillment. I hope to surround myself with those with a similar philosophy throughout my career. With experience in strategic communication, marketing, journalism, social media management, videography, and event planning, I am ready to step in wherever necessary with a detail-oriented and adaptive mindset.

During my time off, I enjoy playing cello, skiing, rooting for the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Bucks, and traveling. In 2022, I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea, where I connected with my heritage and visited as many cafes as possible.
